About Us
Our story
Darkness 2 Deliverance was born in Atlanta from the conviction that no one should fight trauma in silence — and that our city has every resource it needs to be a place where people heal.
Why we exist
Twenty-two veterans take their own lives every day. First responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. One in three adults will live with the long shadow of trauma.
Those are statistics. But behind every number is a person whose story isn't over — and a community that can choose to show up.
That choice is the work.

The Founder's Story
How a calling became a nonprofit
Every organization has an origin. Ours started with a son of a military family who couldn't ignore the people coming home to a fight nobody could see.
- Chapter 01
Born into the uniform
I grew up in a strong military family. Service wasn't a career path in our house — it was the language we spoke. Around the dinner table I heard stories of deployments, brothers lost, and what it costs to come home. The calling to serve was in my blood from the start.
01 - Chapter 02
The road I didn't take
I had every intention of putting on the uniform myself. But life redirected me — and for years I carried the weight of a calling I never got to answer. I watched people I love come back from war and from fires and from the worst nights of strangers' lives, carrying invisible wounds that no one was trained to see.
02 - Chapter 03
Finding the deliverance
I started showing up — for veterans, for first responders, for friends who whispered they were tired of fighting alone. I learned that I didn't need a uniform to serve. The mission was right here in Atlanta, in living rooms and parking lots and 2 a.m. phone calls.
03 - Chapter 04
Building Darkness 2 Deliverance
What started as one person refusing to look away became a community. Darkness 2 Deliverance was founded to turn that calling into a movement — a nonprofit built on lived experience, faith, and the radical belief that no one should walk through the dark alone.
04
"I couldn't wear the uniform — so I decided to stand beside the ones who did, and the ones still fighting battles nobody can see."
— Founder, Darkness 2 Deliverance
